If you’re new to this little space, welcome! Let me tell you a bit about myself.
For the last three years, I’ve been on a journey of learning how to slow down, savor life with my family, and live with more intention. Sparrow & Lilies became my outlet to publish essays for my daughters and to learn about raising girls without fear. You see, after teaching English for several years at an all-girl preparatory school in Dallas, I found myself deeply concerned with the unique challenges faced by the 21st century girl. I explain this in more detail here.
Today, Sparrow & Lilies has evolved into a space where I explore the simple (yet not always easy) pursuit of wonder, hope, and joy—in parenting, education, and life—while always striving toward the ideal of Matthew 6:25-34.
I now spend my days homeschooling my daughters in a small college town nestled among the foothills of the Ouachita mountains. When not writing, adventuring, or reading aloud to my girls, you can find me #weavinghope over at Storyweaver Mercantile, my online fair-trade shop of artisan goods with a story.
Thank you for stopping by; I’m so glad that you’re here!
Wishing you Wild Joy,
